The city of Pacifica, in San Mateo County, stretches along a six-mile area of the Central Coast beaches. Tucked away in several small valleys between the Sweeney and Montara Mountain ranges, it is a popular surfing destination, as well as a hiking and mountain biking sanctuary. Fishing is also abundant from the local Pacifica Pier and its own Rockaway Beach offers shopping, dining and a local farmers' market. Alive with playhouses, orchid gardens and a golf course, Pacifica stays true to its small town feel while having something for everyone's taste.Whether exploring the mountains, whale watching at the beach, or taking in the majestic sunsets, Pacifica is a wonderful gem among California's coastal retreats.

Pacifica is in close proximity to San Francisco and larger cities. Eventhough it is a relatively young community, it is rich in history. "Pacifica" was suggested as a name since it means "peace".  Points of Interest in this very diverse coastal community are Milagra Ridge, Frontierland Park, Shelldance Orchid Nursery, Pacifica Pier, and San Pedro Valley County Park.  It is just minutes away from the Bay Area Rapid Transit System and San Francisco International Airport.
